Helger Yntema is head of the Division Genome Diagnostics, one of the three Divisions within the Department of Human Genetics of Radboud university medical center.
The laboratory currently has over 130 co-workers. The Division Genome Diagnostics consists of 6 teams:
- Fertility and Pregnancy
- Intellectual Disability, Multiple Congenital Abnormalities & Endocrine disorders
- Muscular, Neurological, Renal & Sensory disorders
- Tumor genetics
- Core Genome Analysis Laboratory
- Translational genomics
Helger Yntema is experienced in genetic testing of a wide variety of disorders, but has mainly focused on diagnostics and research on intellectual disability, Noonan syndrome and sensory disorders. She has been involved in the implementation of Exome Sequencing in the diagnostic setting and she is actively involved in the (national and European) ethics discussion on the risks of Next Generation Sequencing.
